The Contribution of Science to Global Peace and Development

Our society observes World Science and Peace Week and International Week for Signs and Peace annually to recognize the contribution of science and technology have made to the advancement of peace.

CONTRIBUTION OF SCIENCE IN PEACE BUILDING

Climate change will significantly affect the natural environment, as UNESCO has noted since the establishment of World Science Day for Peace and Development in 2001.

It has produced a number of real initiatives, programs, and funding for science worldwide.

We need to share our knowledge and support one another, in order to overcome them and realize our full potential.

The United Nations World Peace Association is creating an environment that encourages mutual learning.

It seeks to close the information gap between science and technologies for collaboratively sustainable development.

That you recognize the scope of science is impressive .It depends on the type of study you are doing.

According to Lucky Nonyelum, a consultant in stem education,

As a physicist, I might address it from a physics perspective, but more likely from a broader one regarding the ways in which research might advance peace.

For example, Data analysis is gathering information by fieldwork and using scientific instruments and software such as Stat. to comprehend the true nature of events inside a community.

Our ability to collect data and comprehend the steps involved in data analysis has resulted from such.

Maybe data analysis can help us detect issues and take appropriate action.

The effects on the environment, such if erosion is acceptable in a particular community.

Lucky said,Science and geophysics principles ought to be able to comprehend that this is, in fact, taking place.

These are what the globe is truly demanding right now, before now and even the issue of climate change.

We can also better grasp the location of this environmental issue with the aid of science and technology.

More research and development of electric vehicles is being studied since renewable energy sources are essential to the environment.

According to Nonyelum, science and technology have played a major role in our success. We are currently moving away from the usage of gasoline and toward electric vehicles.

And we might think back to our childhood. Considering that we are using them, we are not using lanterns right now. There is a rechargeable torch we have.

I still recall that I used to watch the latent glove to take out the carbons surrounding it, but since science and technology have made it possible for us to do otherwise, we no longer do that in the twenty-first century.

Not only do we discuss conflict when we talk about promoting peace, but we also discuss how science may improve our quality of life.

Considering that we also build on peace when science improves our lives.

Nonyelum said, it is a clear message that we were able to communicate these things to others in a science that is more open and accessible.

We can live better as human beings and it can be a good rewarding part of us.

Consider the employment of science and technology in the Nigerian elections as an example.

Nevertheless, the system is known to have a weakness, and it is likely that the port was compromised.

Upon witnessing these occurrences, people believe that science and technology are genuinely advancing humankind.

Seeking to destroy Nigeria due to the fact that we use so many machines in our banking and other sectors.

Lucky said, In order for science to effectively promote peace building in all that we do, we must take great care to ensure that anything we undertake in the fields of technology and science is accessible to the public.

The other issue with science is that it is subject to human control.

For example, I could take data and still modify it to fit my needs, therefore in my opinion; science and technology are both very beneficial.

Nonyelum said Merit has truly altered the lives of a great number of individuals worldwide, which is why I wish to highlight it further.

Actually, a lot has changed since then in the 20th and 21st centuries.

This is why I believe that science and technology have greatly benefited humanity, enabling us to advance and even to stably unite our global community.

The intellectual and scientific barriers that fear those who wish to pursue alternative career paths

The things that scare individuals away could have led them to select a different line of study,

“I’m a physicist; I studied physics and education at Nnamdi Azikiwe University,” Nonyelum stated.

I had a broad range of interests initially, but as I grew more inquisitive and eager to learn, I eventually earned a first-class degree in both subjects.

He said that I was the department’s highest-graduating student that year.

I’m very proud of this because I genuinely enjoy the sciences as a subject.

One of the main reasons, in my opinion, that we may say that is because we lack these basics.

                       PARENTAL AUTHORITY

What our parents truly want us to do, whether we are shying away from it or they want us to become lawyers.

1, its part of our Nigerian culture to want to counsel our children, but sometimes we have to let them pursue their passion in order for them to succeed in it.

2. There’s also the persistent fear of math among people,

All of these things, though, are motivated by interest; as I’ve already stated, I need to choose an interest in order to properly investigate and navigate the physics wars.

3. it can also have to do with Nigeria’s educational system. Sorry, but there are instances in which our educational system is not financially viable.

It is disheartening to witness someone who may have studied physics or biochemistry not actually working in a field that is closely related to their field of study.

According to Nonyelum, we ought to start connecting our academic endeavors with our interests so that people have something real to rely on when they come out.

People can occasionally take a specific course and stay in line while studying in another nation.

Lucky stated, “We need to be more exposed to it because our society tends to limit our potential and who and what we can become.

“Imagine hearing someone say that after studying physics education, you will probably end up as a teacher.

He stated, “You have other options; things don’t work that way.” My area of interest is medical physics, and I can use the fundamentals of physics to understand how medical imaging instruments work. The field of science is broad.

Finally, science is for everyone and is not female or boy specific.

THE IMPLEMENTATION OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY IN NIGERIAN EDUCATION

Government should essentially play a more deliberate role in funding scientific and technological advancements.

Our government is making an effort, but they should do a better job of it.

They should be more interested in supporting science inclusion in government departments and investing in our schools, labs, and applications.

Nonyelum said, That Ministry of Science and Technology is in place to genuinely ascertain the amount of funding allocated to rural areas, public and private schools, practical knowledge, and science space.

How many quizzes, mentors, and chancellors are there in our schools for the sciences, or are we only here because we live in a religious nation?

I commend the Foreign Common World development office for their work on the alumni initiative.

Our interest in it stems from our desire to improve scientific literacy in the Southeast.

I’m not comparing the Chinese to Americans; they are achieving a lot, but they should invest in science just like any other nation, such as India.

They got to the moon; it’s not magic; they didn’t wake up one day.

But these are things that, in my opinion, merit imitation.

Which scientific program are we going to fund and use the opportunity to exploit young, scientifically inclined Nigerians for?

In science education, what are the guiding principles and established policies?

What curriculum modifications will enable us to go beyond the practical and even ask the proper questions?

According to Lucky, students may relate to science because it contains these ideas in a way that enables them to engage in the main objective of science, which is “youth transformation” and “social transformation,” and to explore them and participate in these processes.

According to Nonyelum, If the government doesn’t take a serious look at it, Nigeria would face serious problems within the next 15 to 20 years.

To ensure that it’s a deliberate approach, the nation’s Ministry of Education for Science and Technology should take all necessary steps.

Research should be the starting point for everything.

      IMPROVING THE TRUST IN SCIENCE

First and foremost, we need “Open Access” in order to fully understand what is happening. They ought to inform us about what is happening, how it is being controlled, and where the data analysis is being conducted, rather than behaving as though nothing is accessible to us.

Ideally, they would have an open system that anyone can access in order to collect data, especially in Nigeria.

1, data extraction in Nigeria could occasionally be incredibly chaotic. As soon as we have free access, we will thrive. We should all learn how to work together; science does not require you to remain stationary.

 2. Scientific literacy and research both depend on collaboration.More cooperation is needed in the fields of technology and research.

It is important to acknowledge that errors are inevitable in the scientific sphere and that there should be an open and honest exchange of information.

Being literate in science is something that everyone should strive for, not simply scientists.

It will enable you to transcend once you possess this understanding.

This understanding that we ought to be encouraging scientific knowledge is simply beneficial to us.

3, We were able to ask the proper questions of nearly a 1000 pupils and their teachers when we pushed this issue in scientific literacy.

We have been able to encourage them to connect scientific principles to their surroundings,

such as water scarcity, climate change, sustainable development, and other changes.

And we must catch them early because failure to do so will put our country in threat. Thus, I truly want to support this and this is how science can actually aid in promoting harmony and teamwork.
